The gritty defencemen for the Six Nations Pro-Fit Chiefs found out this week, that he has an ACL tear. The injury will end McNamara's Major Series Lacrosse season."I've never had an injury like this," McNamara said Tuesday, as he watched his teammates take on the Brampton Excelsiors. "It's a challenge and I'm looking forward to it."McNamara saw the surgeon Wednesday, and is set to go under the knife on July 2."The appointment went well today," McNamara said. "I'm happy with how fast the process is moving along. And that's all thanks to (Chiefs doctor) Dr. John Ho."McNamara expects to be out of action for six months and is aiming at returning to the National Lacrosse League's New England Black Wolves lineup in the first few weeks of the season.The Hamilton resident was a huge part of the Chiefs since joining the team full time in 2013. During the NLL season, McNamara had career highs in goals, assists, points and loose balls.NOTES: McNamara will join Cody Jamieson in the stands this summer. Jamieson is recovering from surgery to his Achilles. It is expected that he will also be out for the MSL season.
