Oakville Rock leapfrog KW Kodiaks with 6-3 win

Brett Hickey made his return to the Oakville Rock lineup Monday night, but it was Dan Lomas who did most of the damage with a hat trick to lead Oakville to a 6-3 win over the KW Kodiaks. With the two points, the Rock jump over KW into a third-place tie with the Brampton Excelsiors. Both teams have 10 points while KW has nine in the race for the final two playoff spots in Major Series Lacrosse this summer.

Lomas scored once in each period, which was more than KW was able to manage. The Kodiaks led 3-1 for a while in the second period and entered the final 20 minutes up 3-2 but were unable to beat Nick Rose after that.

A 4-0 third made Oakville's 52-37 advantage in shots pay off in the win. Lomas added an assist and Jeremy Noble also had a 4-point night with 1 goal and 3 assists. Corey Fowler was the only Kodiak with multiple points, scoring once and adding an assist.
