The Six Nations Chiefs scored the last seven goals, including the only six of the third period, to beat the Peterborough Lakers 9-5 and win Game 7 of the MSL finals, earning them a trip to their second straight Mann Cup.

Cody Jamieson led the Chiefs with 3 goals and 3 assists and was named the Johnny Shooter Davis Trophy winner as the most valuable player of the MSL playoffs. Jeff Shattler added 2 goals and 2 assists. Brad Self and Mark Steenhuis each scored twice for Peterborough.

Peterborough took a 4-1 lead and was ahead 5-2 after John Grant Jr. scored 3:17 into the second period. After that it was all Six Nations. Brandon Miller relieved Evan Kirk in the Chiefs net after the fourth Peterborough goal and stopped 31 of the 32 shots he faced.

A 3-goal span in just 1:08 of the third period took the Chiefs from a 5-4 deficit to a 7-5 lead and into control of the game. From there they played solid defence and added a couple of insurance markers to ensure that they have a chance to defend the Mann Cup title they won last year in Victoria. The Mann Cup starts this Friday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Six Nations in a rematch with the Victoria Shamrocks.
